About the Outback Golf Classic

The Outback Steakhouse Charity Golf Classic, formerly known as the Kathryn Fox Samway Outback Steakhouse Memorial Golf Classic, is an annual event organized to raise money for cancer research. The Classic was originally named in honor of Kathy Samway, a prominent businesswoman in Reston, VA and an avid golfer. Kathy died July 29, 1992 at the age of 45 after a courageous, year-long fight with cancer.

The Outback Steakhouse Charity Golf Classic series was organized to continue the fine work of the original event. The goal of this series is to continue to raise funds to support cancer research until effective treatment and a cure for cancer is found. Thank you for joining us!
